Add Microsoft SQL Server Web or Standard to Plesk
You can add SQL Web or Standard to your HostingDude.com server and integrate it with Plesk. This will let you create databases directly within Plesk.
This article will take you through purchasing a license from us, going through all of the installation and configuration, and then connecting it to Plesk.
Purchase and Install Microsoft SQL Server Standard
Start by buying and installing SQL Server Standard.
Note: If you do not need the advanced features of SQL Server Standard, you can instead install SQL Server Express directly through Plesk.
Create an admin user for SQL Server
Plesk will not properly sync with SQL Server unless you first create an admin user.
Enable the SQL Server Browser service
So that Plesk can recognize the database server, you must enable the SQL Server Browser service.
Change SQL Server to Mixed-Mode Authentication
Because Plesk cannot use Windows authentication with SQL Server, you must change your SQL Server settings to allow mixed SQL and Windows authentication.
Add Microsoft SQL to Plesk Components
Plesk needs to recognize the SQL Server Standard installation before it can be enabled and activated. This is done by refreshing the Plesk components.
Connect SQL Server to Plesk
This last step completes the process: activate SQL Server Standard inside Plesk.
After all of these steps, you can now create MS SQL databases directly through Plesk.
