Importing MS SQL 2005 Databases into MS SQL 2012 Databases

You can import MS SQL Server® 2005 database information into MS SQL Server® 2012 databases using the following steps.

To Import MS SQL 2005 Databases into 2012

1. Back up your 2005 database.
2. Delete your 2005 database.
3. Create a new 2012 database. We recommend using the same user name so you don't need to modify your scripts.
4. Restore your 2005 database information into your new 2012 database.

Note: After backing up or restoring databases, we recommend waiting at least 10 minutes to connect to it.
