Activate .CN domains (real name validation)
If you want to use a .CN domain name for a website or email, you must activate it by completing real name validation. This proves that you are actually the registrant of the domain by uploading your ID to us.
You can ensure you have the correct ID on hand by viewing the list of forms of ID we accept.
Note: You can register .CN domain names without completing real name validation. However, you cannot host a website or email until you complete it.
- From the domain manager, click either Documentation needed... or Pending Document Upload.
- Log in to your My Products page.
- If you aren't automatically directed there, make sure to select the My Products tab.
- Next to the domain you want to use, click Manage.
- Complete step 1 above.
- Click Upload new document or Use existing document...
- Complete the on-screen fields, and then click Next on each of them.
Note: The information you enter must exactly match the ID your provide or your request will be denied.
The information you enter will also become the legal registrant of your domain name.
Note: We can only accept .jpg and .png file formats for uploaded documents.
You'll receive an email within 5 days of the status of your real name validation.
