Restore a website in cPanel hosting

You can restore your website from a backup if it got hacked or damaged. How you complete the restore depends on how you created the backup:

Restore from manual cPanel backup

1. From the cPanel home page, click Backup.
2. In the Restore a Home Directory Backup area, click Choose File, and then select the backup TAR file on your local machine.
3. Click Upload.

How long the upload takes depends on the size of the site you're restoring. Once the restore completes, a page displaying all of the files that were restored displays.
