Delegate access: Levels of permission

When you invite other people or HostingDude.com customer support sends a request to access supported products in your account, you can set the access level to control what they can do in your account.

To learn how to manage your delegates' access level, see Change a delegate's access level.

Note: A delegate must have a HostingDude.com account to accept an invitation to access your account. When you invite delegates to access your account, they're prompted to log in to their HostingDude.com account, or to create an account if they don't already have one.

Delegate access provides four different access levels:

Access level Delegate can:
Manage Products & Purchase Make purchases on your behalf using your stored payment method.

Access your products (including product control panels) and cancel new products, except for domains. For domains, the delegate can:
  • Purchase domains
  • Manage DNS/nameservers and forwarding
  • Buy in the the domain aftermarket
Manage Products Access your products (including product control panels) and cancel new products, except for domains. For domains, the delegate can:
  • Manage DNS/nameservers and forwarding.
Account Connection Only Be invited to access your account at a future time, but has no access currently. Delegate profile stays linked to your account.
No access/remove relationship Not access your account. The delegate's profile is removed from your account.

Note: If no delegates have accepted your invitation to access your account, you won't see "Account Connection Only" or "No access" in your Delegate Access list.

No matter the access level you grant, your delegate cannot:

  • Manage or add payment methods to your account
  • Invite others to access your account
  • View or change your customer info
  • Do these tasks with your domains: transfer or unlock domains, change contact info, manage auto-renew, sell domains in the aftermarket, respond to a domain buy service, or manage backorders
